What should I expect on my first Physiotherapy visit?
On arrival you will be greeted and shown to your private consultation room. You will be asked to fill out a short medical history form, which will enable us to choose treatment techniques that are appropriate and safe for you.
What should I wear?
Loose comfortable clothing is ideal where possible. Depending on the area of the injury, some clothing may need to be partially removed for us to assess and treat the area of injury. You are welcome to bring a pair of shorts or a vest top with you.
Do I need to be referred by my doctor?
No, you do not need to see your GP or have a referral to book an appointment. You are welcome to book directly with us, by phoning or emailing for an appointment.
Can I bring someone with me?
Of course, you may bring a relative, friend or parent with you if you would like to.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
After your initial assessment, you will be given an estimation of how many treatment sessions will be required. This varies depending on the nature and history of the condition. If an injury does not improve as we would expect, we will refer you onwards to your GP or consultant for further investigations as necessary.
Can Physiotherapy help me?
Please contact us and we are more than happy discuss your injury / condition with you, to establish whether Physiotherapy is appropriate for you.
Is there any parking nearby?
Yes, there is a large public car park behind the Bell Pharmacy (where we are based).
Do you treat children?
Yes, however under 18's will need to be accompanied by an adult during the assessment and treatment sessions.
How long are your appointments?
Initial Physiotherapy consultations are 45 minutes long. During this appointment we can assess, diagnose and begin treatment. Follow up Physiotherapy appointments are available for 45 minutes or 30 minutes, depending on which is best suited to an individual's requirements.
Home visits (when available) are 45 minutes per appointment. Please contact us to discuss this option.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Please bring any relevant medical notes or records with you, as this will help us to make informed decisions regarding your assessment and treatment. This may include X-ray or MRI reports or medication related to your condition.
Do you do home visits?
We may be able to offer a home visit, however there is an extra charge for this due to travelling time. Please contact us directly to discuss this possibility.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments by credit card, debit card and cash. We may be able to accept cheques in occasional circumstances. Payments are due at the end of each consultation.
